THE RETURN OF "ROWDY" RODDY PIPER!
St. Patrick's Day, 1983, Portland Sports Area

On St Patrick's Day evening, 1983, Don Owen Promotions and Portland Wrestling welcomed the Hot Rod, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, back home. 

On this special night, Piper was returning to the Pacific NW after being gone for quite a while, wrestling around the country. At the time, he had recently gone through surgery on his thumb after getting it nearly severed in a match in California. Not wanting to disappoint the Portland fans, he wrestled anyway, injured and in danger of permanently damaging the hand.
